Allison Hasse
Childhood and Special Education (Grades 1-6) with a Concentration in Mathematics and a Minor in Pyschology
I am a senior at Mount Saint Mary College as well as an aspiring teacher. I've always felt the most comfortable while in the classroom because I have the confidence that hard work pays off. I'm able to exercise my brain in a way that helps me achieve my academic goals. I yearn to be the kind of teacher that gives children this confidence both inside and outside of the classroom.
After my student teaching experiences at Horizons-on-the-Hudson in Newburgh as well as BOCES in Pakanasink Elementary School, I have realized that teaching math to children is my calling. The excitement I get while teaching math is different than any other subject. I've also recognized that I find great joy in teaching students with disabilities. Moreover, I plan to pursue a special education math teaching career in the near future.
